The headlines read of devastating fires and flooding, political parties constantly bickering, the president has been impeached, there are rumors of war and even cyber retaliation has been threatened. You cannot turn on the news without having it cause stress to your well-being. Couple that with day-to-day challenges, whether it be in work, at home, personal or otherwise. It can get overwhelming.
We experience strife. It knocks on our door. It calls us out. But I say, don’t let it. Instead, take heart. God has overcome!
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
~John 16:33
Maybe it’s a bad day you’re having. A bad week. Maybe you’re distraught over finances or family disagreement or maybe it’s some other distraction, something heavily weighing on your mind. And still, I implor you to keep this thought; take courage that it all turns out in the end. We all have troubles. We experience travails. There are roadblocks we didn’t count on. Pathways that take a hard-right and then travel us on a bumpy ride. Journey strong and be encouraged by these words from Jesus himself…
Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
~Jesus
His promise to us is weaved throughout the Bible. In the Old Testament, through the prophet Hosea, we are encouraged…
So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD.
~Hosea 6:3
His going forth is as certain as the dawn;
And He will come to us like the rain,
Like the spring rain watering the earth.
I’m encouraged. My yoke has lightened just writing these words, and from studying, to bring you this reassurance. This hope. This hope as an anchor of the soul. Be encouraged my friend. Take heart. ~ Dale
